This luxury family group holiday itinerary to Nanuku Resort Fiji will surely get you Fiji Dreaming again.
If you’ve missed international travel over the past two years, the Mason families’ luxury holiday to Nanuku Resort (formerly named Nanuku Auberge Resort) featured below will inspire your desire for an island escape…
After a two year wait during COVID, the Mason family from Australia are finally jetting off to celebrate Mr Mason’s 70th birthday at the luxury at Nanuku Resort Fiji.
Originally booked for 2020, this multi-generational family holiday will now be celebrating Mr Mason’s 72nd birthday! We know the wait will be worth it as our team of Fiji travel specialists, in conjunction with the staff on the ground at Nanuku Resort, have put together a once-in-a-lifetime itinerary that will become one of the families’ most cherished times spent together.
While we can’t give away any of the special surprises we’ve organised for Mr Mason and his family (after extensive background planning between our team and the staff at Nanuku), we’re very excited to give you a sneak peak into their itinerary.
We hope it stirs up some of your favourite Fiji memories, inspiring you to return to the magical Fiji Islands soon. Rest assured, the friendly Fijians are waiting to give you a very warm and lively “Bula” upon your arrival.
Leaving a bitterly cold Sydney winter to bask in the warmth of the tropics.
Departing from Sydney Airport, the Mason’s will arrive altogether at Nadi Airport where our representative will greet them with private transport and transfer them to Nanuku Resort Fiji.
Nanuku is a five star, tropical oasis nestled on a 500 acre private estate on the island of Viti Levu.
Viti Levu is perfectly positioned adjacent to Pacific Harbour, the adventure capital of Fiji, and a region that offers amazing diving spots, world famous surf breaks, game fishing, white water rafting, shark diving experiences, and so much more.
Upon their arrival at the resort, the Mason’s will receive a traditional warrior welcome, with personal greeting by the Chief, to the sound of the beating Lali drum.
Anyone who has been lucky to receive a traditional Fijian greeting will know it sets the hairs on your arms on end with its warmth and passion.
In fact, Nanuku Resort is widely known for its strong cultural values and is frequently chosen by Tourism Fiji to showcase these traditions to visiting dignitaries.
The beachfront accommodation represents barefoot luxury at its best.
To accommodate the 18 members of the group (comprising Mr & Mrs Mason, plus 4 separate families), we acquired 5 villas adjacent to one another along the beachfront. Rather than booking one of the resort’s residences, separate accommodation will afford each family time away from the group, if needed.
The ultra-modern beachfront villas were newly built just before COVID and feature large living areas, stylish furnishings and private plunge pools.
Located mere footsteps to the water’s edge, this is five-star luxury at its best – with shoes optional!
Whilst the villas offer plenty of privacy, yet are conveniently located near the Clubhouse, main dining area and the myriad of resort facilities that cater for kids of all ages.
The sunrise over the turquoise waters of Beqa Lagoon will greet the Masons’ each morning where they may choose to take an early morning walk or swim before breakfast or just relax on the balcony and admire the view.

Speaking of food – all meals are included!
We included a full meal plan into the Mason’s itinerary so they could relax and delight in the range of internationally-inspired Pacific Rim cuisine offered at Nanuku, made from the freshest, locally sourced ingredients (including fresh caught fish from the village fishermen).
They’ll be able to enjoy fine dining at Kanavata Restaurant and Lounge, a sunset drink at the Wai Pool Bar or, for a night unlike any other, dinner on the spectacular dining platform suspended high among the branches of a 70-year-old Dilo tree. Of course, there’s always a private chef available for personalised in-room dining.
All Nanuku guests enjoy a complimentary selection of non-alcoholic beverages, filtered house water and French press coffee. Each day there is complimentary afternoon tea and sunset canapes by the pool. Even cookies on your pillow each night! And of course, the kids love the air popcorn maker in each room.
At Nanuku, kids are just as important as the grown-ups.
The Mason group includes seven lucky kids ranging in age from 12 years down to an infant.
At Nanuku, all kids under 8 years are allocated a dedicated Nanny (Villa Mama) from 8am – 6pm. Hours can be extended if the adults want to enjoy child-free time in the evening.
Daily activities for the little ones include sensory and hands-on play, games and craft.
Kids over 8 years can join in the fun at the Lailai Kids’ Adventure Club where they’re assigned a ‘buddy’.
Best of all, the Kids’ Club is tech-free, encouraging children to wind down and get back in touch with nature.
Here they’ll spend time with the resort’s marine biologist and adventure guides. Whether they’re partaking in Fijian culture dress-ups, exploring the island’s botanical gardens, mangrove and coral planting or prawning, this is a holiday unlike anything they’ll [Rebecca1] experience at home! Of course, there is a myriad number of land and water sports that are synonymous with a tropical island holiday.
It’s not uncommon to see Villa Mamma’s comforting kids when it’s time to go home, wishing that they could stay at Nanuku forever.
For so many families, Nanuku is a life changing experience and that’s why we see them return year after year.
What about some well-deserved R & R for the adults?
Nanuku’s spa and wellness centre is a place to energise the mind, spa and soul.
In keeping with the resort’s traditional and cultural values, the spa incorporates ancient methods of massage passed down through generations of Fijian culture harnessing indigenous minerals, botanicals and essential oils to nourish and energise.
Treatments can take place in private spa suites or leave your cares down below in an open-air private platform suspended high up among the branches of a 70-year-old dilo tree. Enjoy the soothing sounds of waves lapping on the beach well below as you surrender to full-body rejuvenation.
